On April 11, the Senate Finance Committee held a hearing to learn from physicians representing both the primary care and specialty physician communities about how Medicare physician payment can bolster chronic care. A summary of this hearing can be found here. In response to the hearing, the AUA submitted a statement for the record highlighting an increase in budget neutrality, an inflationary update to the conversion factor equal to the Medicare Economic Index, and an expansion of quality payment programs as possible Congressional actions to help stabilize the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule.
