Definition of a Urologist

The American Urological Association (AUA) and the Urology Care Foundation define a urologist as a physician and surgeon who is especially trained for the diagnosis and treatment of genitourinary and adrenal gland diseases in patients of any age and of either sex. The AUA believes the minimum qualifications of a urologist are:

The AUA recognizes that these qualifications already exist as part of the requirements for AUA Active Membership provided in the AUA Bylaws, Article II, Section 2.
