The American Urological Association encourages medical schools, residency and fellowship programs and academic and private practice groups to develop explicit procedures for providing education about gender bias and to assure accountability to the principle of equal opportunity, compensation and advancement for women.
Where such policies do not exist or have not been followed, all medical workplaces and institutions are encouraged to create strict and explicit policies to deal with sexual harassment through internal mechanisms that include appropriate disciplinary action following due process.
