Congressman Matheson in the office of AUA Member Lane Childs

Rep. Jim Matheson (D-UT-2) visited Dr. Lane C. Childs’ medical office in Salt Lake City, UT, on October 3, 2012. Dr. Childs presented the Congressman with a UROPAC check in support of his re-election campaign. Rep. Matheson is one of a very small number of Democrats to cross the aisle and urge repeal of the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB).

During the visit, Dr. Childs explained the workings of a urology practice and answered questions that Congressman Matheson had about prostate-specific antigen (PSA) testing and the recent recommendations of the United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF). Rep. Matheson was accompanied by his DC-based Chief of Staff Meg Joseph, who had met with Dr. Childs in Washington, D.C. during the Joint Advocacy Conference (JAC) Hill meetings.
