AUA, UROLOGY POLICY FORUM TO HOST CONGRESSIONAL BRIEFING ON UROLOGY HEALTH POLICY

Baltimore, MD, November 5, 2013—The American Urological Association (AUA), in conjunction with the Urology Policy Forum and the Congressional Men’s Health Caucus, will host a special Congressional Briefing on November 6 to discuss key health policy issues of import to the urology community. Topics to be discussed include prostate cancer testing, families’ access to fertility treatment and urotrauma among veterans and members of the armed services. Key speakers include American Public Health Association Men’s Health Caucus member Alphonso Gibbs Jr.; Dr. H. Ballentine Carter, director of adult urology at the Brady Urological Institute and professor of oncology and urology at Johns Hopkins Medicine; Erin Kramer, government affairs manager at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and staff representatives from the office of Representative Brett Guthrie (R-KY).

“The AUA is pleased to spearhead this important event with the Urology Policy Forum and share important information with lawmakers and their staffs on these important policy issues,” said AUA Health Policy Council Chair David F. Penson, MD.

The event will begin at 4 p.m. in the Cannon House Office Building, room 121. Members of the Urology Policy Forum will be on hand to discuss these issues with interested lawmakers and staff.
