CMS Releases Proposed Rules for Physician and Hospital Outpatient and Ambulatory Surgical Center Fee Schedules

Proposed changes for physician services would delete several prostate biopsy codes, enhance review of potentially misvalued services, and end CME exclusion for Open Payments. Proposed changes in the outpatient setting would refine the previously introduced comprehensive APC policy, implement a physician modifier for off-campus provider based departments, and change the certification requirements for inpatient hospital admissions.
