American Urological Association (AUA)/Urological Society of India (USI) Academic Exchange Program

Supported by

Background

The AUA/USI Academic Exchange Program allows young academic urologists to benefit from the sharing of knowledge and experiences. The program promotes the interchange of urological skills, expertise and knowledge, and provides outstanding and promising junior faculty members with an opportunity to interact with colleagues in India and the United States. Medical advances are often the result of fruitful collaboration and this interchange is designed to facilitate such opportunities. The program not only allows the sharing of knowledge and experience, but is designed to foster a closer alliance between the AUA and USI, and assists in identifying future leaders within both organizations.

This reciprocal program designed for two Indian and two American urologists includes an educational experience in the United States and attendance at the AUA Annual Meeting whereas the United States urologists will spend one-month at an academic center in India and attend the USI Annual Meeting. During these visits the scholars observe urologic surgeries/procedures, attend clinics and staff activities.

2011 Timing

The USI Annual Meeting will be held in India, in winter 2011. Scholars will spend approximately one month prior to the meeting at the Indian institution(s) and will end their trip with attendance at the Annual Meeting.
