Manager of Member Services Recruitment & Retention
Primary duties include: managing member recruitment and retention efforts, including overseeing the workload and daily activities of the Member Services Specialist; coordinating and executing successful program management and communication with AUA’s sections, managing the associations’ affinity programs, oversight for the AUA’s JobFinder service, providing committee support as assigned and assisting the Director with budgeting activity as assigned.
The successful candidate will have a BA or BS degree. The candidate will have a minimum of three - five years association and member development experience, preferably in health care. Minimum two years supervisory experience is preferred. Must have knowledge of association management software. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must have the ability to work independently and as a team member. Travel to the Annual Meeting and possibly other meetings, throughout the year.

Marketing & Communications Associate/Assistant
Assists in the day to day function of the Marketing & Communications Department. Assists with marketing and communications projects through copy editing, text preparation as needed, administrative coordination of electronic communications and web site updates. Copy edits and proofreads all communications and marketing materials for style, clarity and verification of facts. Assists with monitoring media activity as needed.
The successful candidate will have an Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s Degree preferred) in public relations or journalism. Must be detailed oriented and have the ability to work in a team atmosphere. Excellent English grammar and writing skills required. Internet and Microsoft Word proficiency with some database skills required. Some travel required.

Marketing & Communications Specialist
Responsible for both Communications and Marketing projects, including text preparation and editorial coordination for internal and external publications. This position is divided between Communications and Marketing, with the division subject to workload. Responsible for newsletter development, text preparation of the AUA’s bi-monthly electronic newsletter. Copyedits all articles, reviews content for clarity.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations or Journalism. 3-5 years communications and/or marketing experience, preferably with healthcare background. Must be able to build effective working relationships with a diverse group of constituents, including consumer audiences and domestic and international physicians. Detail oriented. Excellent grammar and writing skills required. Some travel required.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) Coordinator
Major responsibilities include reviewing and preparing industry support letters of agreements for compliance with ACCME Standard of Commercial Support and upon Industry Relations’ request for LOAs, Annual Review and scientific program support, support the Compliance Manager with the responsibilities of the Urologic Diagnostic and Therapeutic Imaging Committee and the National Urologic Ultrasound Faculty. Budget coding and preparation for activities within the staff’s purview. Developing and coordinating needs assessment data with the CME Compliance Manager, and serves as the main liaison with sections for their Annual Meetings. Assist in the coordination of the Ultrasound Instructors Course. Administrative support of the Content Review Process, regulatory files and special projects.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree, preferred. The candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years related work experience in medical associations preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and analytical skills a plus. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills along with excellent organizational skills. Must have the ability to work independently and as a team member. Ability to complete multiple tasks ensuring deadlines are met. Ability to travel to the Annual Meeting and other weekend meetings, throughout the year.

Manager of Regulations
The primary focus of this position is to formulate and communicate AUA policy positions related to government regulation, and to contribute to all of the work of the Regulation, Reimbursement and Quality Department, including providing expert advice on health policy issues to the extent possible.
Formulates AUA policy with respect to government regulations by analyzing impacts and soliciting input from relevant AUA members and committees, AUA departments and outside organizations. Prepare responses to appropriate government agencies. Assists and coordinates in the representation of the AUA to major governmental agencies (e.g., CMS, FDA, OIG) and other organizations involved in regulation and support our physician representatives to those entities. Report on regulations activities and apprise the AED and Directors of potential impacts of such activities upon their respective operations. Analyzes existing rules and regulations in order to understand their impacts and to assess contemplated changes. Formulates regulatory analysis in conjunction with AUA departments and AUA members. Works with the entire Health Policy division to ensure proper coordination of regulatory issues. Provides input on regulatory related activities that are being reviewed or initiated in the legislative arena including providing data and other information for grassroots efforts. Contributes to Health Policy AED, Directors and staff as necessary as well as other AUA divisions on overlapping issues relating to regulations, and related areas.
MPH, MHA, MPA or comparable Masters degree in health policy or related field (e.g., political science, sociology, etc.). Minimum seven years experience with health policy and measurement and/or statistics and methodology. Strong oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of regulatory, legislative and judicial processes. Ability to accomplish multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines. Comprehensive analytical skills. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel. Some travel required. Ability to manage projects with minimal supervision.

Government Relations and Advocacy Manager
This position will be located in our Washington, D.C. office. This position reports to the Director of Government Relations and Advocacy, Health Policy, working within a team environment with AUA staff and membership to promote the federal portion of the AUA’s legislative agenda. The Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining strong working relationships with members of Congress and their staff, appropriate federal agencies, and allied organizations and coalitions. This will require frequent interactions with these offices. The manager will also monitor, track, and analyze federal legislation and regulatory policy that affect the AUA’s government relations and advocacy agenda. This position is actively engaged in the formation and implementation of an annual advocacy conference and integrated message development for communicating the association’s objectives to internal and external audiences. The Manager will prepare and present advocacy updates, presentations, talking points and position papers, and other tools to integrate and implement the organization’s priorities into legislative programming and report successes to the leadership and members.
A Bachelor’s degree is required, graduate degree preferred, in political science, public health, public policy, or other relevant area. Strong public speaking and presentation skills, as well as strong research, analytical, communications, and interpersonal skills are essential; a demonstrated ability to develop a rapport with others while demonstrating tact and diplomacy is critical, and must be able to exercise sound judgment in sharing and communicating information internally and externally. Solid knowledge of legislative and regulatory processes needed, 5 years progressively responsible experience required, preferably in federal government, legislature, and/or health-related organization. Strong time management skills are required to meet rapidly shifting deadlines on multiple projects. Must be able to work independently and in collaboration to produce accurate and well-composed work under tight deadlines.
