Target Audience
This course is designed for urologists and allied health professionals who wish to obtain the latest updates and cutting-edge science in the field. Presented topics are the best from the 2009 Annual Meeting and will enhance professional knowledge gaps and enable attendees to apply evidence-based science to their practices.
Course Description/Purpose/Need
The courses selected for this meeting were based on the needs expressed by the AUA membership during their most recent needs assessment survey. Those topics identified include state-of-art lectures on kidney cancer, erectile dysfunction, guidelines, coding and reimbursement, advanced laparoscopic and robotic oncology, and bladder cancer. Attendees will benefit from the lectures presented on these topics and actual take-home messages that can be applied to their practices. All educational offerings will enhance patient assessment and outcomes.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:
discuss the physiology and pathophysiology of erectile function and dysfunction in men at risk for this difficult condition
evaluate and treat patients with small renal masses (SRMs)
analyze the technical steps of radical nephrectomy, partial nephrectomy, renal cryotherapy and radio frequency ablation (RFS), laparoscopic RPLND
identify appropriate patients and techniques for a minimally invasive approach to SUI and POP repair
review the new coding and reimbursement requirements for 2009
review the current AUA Guidelines and Best Practice Policy documents related to urologic malignancies
discuss the nuances of performing a proper endoscopic resection of bladder tumors

The syllabus publication for the Cutting-Edge Topics in Urology course will be provided on a CD-ROM.
Electronic copies of the presentations will be available for download and print prior to the course.

Cancellation Policy
Through June 19, 2009 the cancellation fee is $75. If you cancel between June 19, 2009 and July 17, 2009, the cancellation fee is $125. There are no refunds after July 17, 2009.
The AUA has the right to cancel this course if a minimum enrollment is not reached by Monday, July 6, 2009. If the AUA cancels this course, registration fees will be refunded in full and notification will be sent by Wednesday, July 8, 2009.
Conference Confirmation
A written confirmation will be sent from our office approximately two weeks after your registration is received and processed.
