Come to the Annual Meeting a day early to take advantage of this popular hands-on course!
This course is designed to provide urologists and urology residents with the knowledge and basic skills necessary for performing urologic ultrasound. This one-day offering combines online training and testing (pre-course*) with on-site, hands-on instruction in kidney, bladder, and scrotal ultrasound. Participants are evaluated by didactic testing and direct observation by faculty members to determine if they have met the course objectives. Attendees who demonstrate the hands-on skills and who pass the didactic tests, both online and on-site, will receive a CME Level 2 certificate. Proficiency and facility in performing specific ultrasound examinations will be achieved by subsequently applying these acquired skills in clinical practice.
*NOTE: If you would like to also take prostate ultrasound (TRUS), it is available in the three-hour format at the Annual Meeting the next day, Saturday, May 19, 2012. To do so, please register for course #103HO at www.AUA2012.org.
Credit Designation
The American Urological Association designates this live activity for a maximum of 8.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
*NOTE: Attendees are expected to have completed the AUA Basic Urologic Ultrasound online learning activity and online test prior to attending the hands-on ultrasound course. The Basic Urologic Ultrasound online learning activity, with an additional 1.5 credits, is included in the course registration cost and will be unlocked for attendees upon registration.
