Target Audience
This course is designed for urologists seeking to enhance their laparoscopic skills using a surgical robot.
Course Description/Purpose/Need
There are two modules that must be completed for the AUA Surgical Robot Basic Skills Training certification. Prior to the course, the learner must register and complete Module One of the Intuitive Surgical® online curriculum. Module One takes approximately 90 minutes to complete, including a final examination given at the end of the course. Participants must achieve an 80% passing score on the exam to be able to participate in the AUA Surgical Robot Basic Skills Training course. A printed certificate of completion must be submitted at the training course before commencement of the second module.
The second module of the Surgical Robot Basic Skills Training course includes both animate and inanimate hands-on robotic skills training using the daVinci® Surgical System. This includes the following skill task exercises:
Peg transfer, robot docking/undocking and instrument transfer
Pattern cutting or passing the loop over the wire
Interrupted suturing
Continuous suturing
Vesicourethral anastomosis on a model
Scientific Program Schedule – A Maximum of 8.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™
The Surgical Robot Basic Skills Training Course is a one-day course and will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.

Cancellations before December 22, 2010 are subject to a $250 cancellation fee. There are no refunds after December 22, 2010.
The AUA Education & Research has the right to cancel this course if a minimum enrollment is not reached by Thursday, December 23, 2010. If the AUA Education & Research cancels this course, registration fees will be refunded in full and notification will be sent by Monday, December 27, 2010.
