Description/Purpose/Need
The American Urological Association (AUA) is proud to offer a FREE Prostate Cancer Webinar Series on many topics related to the treatment of prostate cancer, presented by expert faculty from around the country. The AUA is proud to offer a the first of a series of FREE Prostate Cancer Webinars on many topics related to the treatment of prostate cancer, presented by expert faculty from around the country. This is an opportunity to gain 0.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for each webinar you view without leaving your home or office.
The three known risk factors for prostate cancer (age, race, and family history) have limited ability to predict the risk of disease for an individual patient. Data from the PCPT and other studies have identified new variables that impact on risk and led to the development of sophisticated yet simple to use risk calculators that expand upon these factors along with PSA that can be easily incorporated into daily practice. Evolution in genetic testing has now identified certain chromosomal variants that also accurately identify individuals at increased risk and will be commercially available in the near future. This presentation will synthesize these developments into a usable context.
Attendance is limited for the live program. 30-minute program with a 15-minute question-and-answer period following the presentation. Program will also be available on-line the day after the live event.
Supported by an educational grant from GlaxoSmithKline.
