Establishment of departments of urology
The American Urological Association, Inc.® (AUA) recommends that urologic staff in medical schools and hospitals be members of an independent department and not a division of surgery. The AUA encourages a similar stand by the Residency Review Committee for Urology, the American Board of Urology, and other affiliated organizations.
