AUA International Residency Grant Program
Purpose
To encourage International Urological Residency Programs to support AUA membership recruitment among International Residents-in-Training (IRIT) and in turn have a chance to be awarded grant money for their program.
Qualifications
Both qualifications must be met:
- Be an accredited Urological Residency Program outside of the United States, Canada and Mexico.
- Have two or more of your current non-member residents complete an IRIT application by March 2, 2012.
How to Enroll
The AUA works hard to collect and maintain current contact information of residency programs from around the world so that we can keep them informed about special opportunities such as this grant program. Click here to view a list of residency programs by country that the AUA currently has on file.
- If your program is not included on the list of residency programs above, submit a Contact Information form by clicking here. If your program is listed, we still encourage you to complete and submit this form to ensure we have the most current contact information for your program.
- Encourage your residents to apply for AUA Membership online by clicking here between now and
March 2, 2012.
- As part of the International Residents-in-Training requirement, residents must submit a letter of endorsement from their program. To download an endorsement letter template, click here. This should be signed by the residency program director, printed on program letterhead and confirm the applicant is a resident in good standing along with the expected graduation date.
Selection of Winners
For each resident that submits a complete AUA membership application, your program will be entered into the drawing where two winners will be randomly selected to receive a grant of $200 (USD) each. All participating programs will have their names publicized during the AUA Annual Meeting and in AUANews, a monthly publication.
Use of Monies
The grant is to be used to directly support International Residents-in-Training within their programs. For example, the monies could be used to fund their AUA dues and reimburse travel expenses associated with attending the AUA Annual Meeting.
Program Responsibilities
- To use monies prior to December 31, 2012, and
- To report back to the AUA on how the monies were disbursed.
Funding Responsibility
The AUA, as a 501(C)(6) organization, makes this grant available to the Urological Residency Programs as stipulated herein. The reporting of such receipts is the responsibility of the recipient.
