Cystitis Cystica

  1. Gross features: appear as pearly or luminescent cysts, particularly involving the trigone of the bladder
  2. Histologic features:
    • nests of benign urothelial cells with central cystic degeneration (so basically they look like von Brunn’s nests with a hole in the middle)
    • lining cells are urothelial (as opposed to cystitis glandularis...)
