Normal Urine cytology: Prostatic Cells

  1. Histologic features:
    • form small aggregates that maintain a "ball-like" or glandular configuration
    • cells are small and may be columnar or round with slightly acidophilic (pink) cytoplasm
    • nucleus: single small, round to oval, with finely granular chromatin.

  2. May be seen following prostatic massage.
