Pearly Penile Papules

  1. also known as "hirsutoid papillomas"
  2. Etiology: does not appear to be infectious or neoplastic; may represent persistence of embryonic remnants.
  3. Gross: yellow-white papules on the corona (rarely on the frenulum) of the penis; look dome-like, resembling hair, and are usually arranged in a row.
  4. Histologic features:
    • epithelial thickening over a central fibrovascular core
    • no glandular elements
  5. Treatment: none needed.
