Chromophil Renal Cell Carcinoma
Cytogenetics: Trisomy 7, trisomy 17, loss of Y
Gross: variable, may have a "papillary" or friable cut surface
Histology:
cells may be clear or eosinophilic
papillary architecture
papillae are covered by single layer of neoplastic cells, generally have fibrovascular cores, and often are distended by foamy histiocytes.
nuclei are round, small, with a low-grade appearance
