Granulosa Cell Tumor

  1. Adult form:
    • most common form
    • presents as testicular mass without endocrine symptoms
    • Micro: characteristic feature is ring-like or rosette-like arrangement of cells (Call-Exner bodies)
    • 10% metastasize
  2. Juvenile form:
    • occurs in infants < 6 months of age
    • may be associated with cytogenetic abnormalities of the Y chromosome and ambiguous genitalia
    • some tumors may develop in undescended testes
