Pearly Penile Papules

  • Also known as "hirsutoid papillomas."
  • Etiology: does not appear to be infectious or neoplastic; may represent persistence of embryonic remnants.
  • Gross: yellow-white papules on the corona (rarely on the frenulum) of the penis; look dome-like, resembling hair, and are usually arranged in a row.
  • Histologic features:
    • Epithelial thickening over a central fibrovascular core.
    • No glandular elements.
  • Treatment: none needed.
