  • Second most common variety of fibromuscular dysplasia (medial fibroplasia with aneurysms is the most common).
  • Predominantly affects young women; right > left, but may be bilateral.
  • Histology: characterized by collagen deposition that replaces the outer 1/2 - 2/3 of the medial layer and circular hyperplasia of muscle in inner layer of media (image A) & (image B).
  • Thrombosis most common in this form.
