Thank you for your interest in the AUA Residents Committee! Since its inception, the AUA Residents Committee has aimed to provide representation for concerns and relevant educational opportunities for Urology residents.
The Residents Committee is a standing committee of the AUA, reporting to the Section Secretaries Membership Council (AUA's governing body). Some of the committee's educational endeavors include authorship of a monthly article in AUANews regarding topics of acute resident interest, selection of a staff physician for the Committee's annual Teaching Award, and organization of the annual AUA Residents Forum. The Residents Forum is the single best opportunity for urology residents to learn how to navigate job searches, personal and practice finances, job-related legal issues, and the trade-offs regarding specialty training versus private practice positions.
The Residents Committee also directs the AUA Residents Bowl and the AUA National Chief Resident Debate. Both programs have been extremely successful during the AUA annual meeting. We will continue to refine these programs and develop new resident activities for the future.
On behalf of the AUA Residents Committee, we welcome you to learn more regarding resident involvement in the AUA. Please feel free to contact me, or to post a question to the Residents Committee from the link on our website.
