Introduction/Activity Overview Statement of Need

Urologists need a thorough knowledge of the most recent developments and techniques in urology to ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety. Of the 200,000 men who will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year, 5-10% will have advanced disease.1 While there is no cure for advanced prostate cancer, with advances in science, we are able to slow its growth and reduce cancer related symptoms. The most common types of therapy include Hormonal Therapy/Androgen Deprivation Therapy, Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy. This activity includes the presentations of four advanced prostate cancer courses recorded live at the 2012 AUA Annual Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia.
