Introduction/Activity Overview Statement of Need
To ensure consistent, high quality, evidence-based patient care, the AUA has released a Clinical Practice Guideline on the Detection of Prostate Cancer at the 2013 AUA Annual Meeting. With the release of a new clinical guideline, urologists need up-to-date education regarding targeted screening and how to counsel patients about their prostate cancer risk. In a survey conducted by the Institute for Health System Change, 73 percent of clinicians reported not knowing where to find specific treatment guidelines.3 This activity includes the presentations of six prostate cancer courses recorded live at the 2013 AUA Annual Meeting in San Diego, California.
