About the American Urological Association Guidelines Department

In keeping with the vision of the American Urological Association (AUA) to serve as a premier professional association for the advancement of urologic patient care, the AUA Guidelines Department continually works to fulfill the need for quality, evidence-based education for medical professionals.

It is through the Guidelines Department that the AUA produces and disseminates Clinical Practice Guidelines and Best Practice Statements in addition to facilitating the review and approval of guidelines developed by outside organizations. The AUA's Clinical Guidance fosters the highest principles of urologic care by ensuring that members are current on the latest peer-reviewed evidence and practices in the field.

Practice Guidelines Committee

The AUA Guidelines Department provides staff support for the Practice Guidelines Committee (PGC), a physician committee that serves as a clinical resource to the Guidelines Department and Guideline panels.
