IAUA Chakrobortty Fellowship

The AUA/Indian American Urological Association (IAUA) Chakrobortty Fellowship Program in partnership with the Puli Pradip Reddy Memorial Fund at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. Funded in part by the AUA, IAUA, and Puli Pradip Reddy Memorial Fund at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, this program promotes the interchange of urological skills, expertise and knowledge. The program provides outstanding and promising junior faculty members in India with an opportunity to interact with colleagues in North America.

With medical advances often the result of collaboration, the Chakrobortty Fellowship Program has the potential to directly impact the educational opportunities for young urologists while improving the delivery of quality care to patients in India. This level of collaboration also enhances the knowledge and global perspectives of AUA and IAUA members in North America.

The program facilitates two Indian urologists for up to a six-week period in the Spring of 2017, and spend an additional week at the AUA Annual Meeting in Boston, Massachusetts, May 12 – 16, 2017. During these visits, the scholars will have the unique opportunity to observe urologic operations and procedures (no hands-on), and attend clinics and staff activities. One scholar should be a Pediatric urologist or have a strong interest in Pediatric urology, and will visit Cincinnati Children's Hospital. The other selected scholar may be in any urology sub-specialty area, and their host institution will be determined at a later date.

The 6-week program followed by the AUA Annual Meeting will begin in spring 2017.
