Selection Procedures

Other than choosing a one-year or two-year award, Applicants cannot designate the award for which they are applying (Segura, Krane, AUA Section Award, etc.). All applications will be reviewed, scored, and ranked by a peer review panel of experts. From the pool of proposals deemed fundable, appropriate funding sources will then be matched. Proposals for research that will be conducted outside of the boundaries of the AUA sections will be considered only for the Joseph Segura Research Scholar Award in Endourology and Stone Management, the Indian American Urological Association/Sakti Das, MD Research Scholar Award, and the Indian American Urological Association/Kailish Kedia, MD Research Scholar Award.

Awardees will be notified of funding decisions in writing. An initial communication will advise Applicants if  his/her proposal will be funded.  Regardless of funding status, Applicant’s will be provided with a summary statement of his/her grant review. Please note that results will not be given over the phone.
