The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) hosted two public advisory workshops at the 2013 American Urological Association (AUA) Annual Meeting in San Diego, California, and the AUA served as a co-sponsor. Both workshops were open to the public.
The first workshop, “Design of Clinical Trials for New Medical Therapies in Patients with Localized Prostate Cancer,” was held on Sunday, May 5, 2013.
The second workshop, “Clinical Trial Design Issues: Development of New Therapies for Nonmuscle Invasive Bladder Cancer,” was held on Monday, May 6, 2013.

Transcripts and webcasts of the 2013 FDA/AUA Prostate Cancer Workshop and Bladder Cancer Workshop are available in the “View Webcasts” section of the AUA2013 Annual Meeting website, www.AUA2013.org. These workshops focused on the development of new therapies and drug and device development in clinical trial design. Each workshop included presentations by experts and FDA personnel and a panel discussion.
