The National Quality Forum (NQF) is a multi-stakeholder membership organization (including researchers, purchasers, providers, consumers, industry and employers) with a three-part mission to improve the quality of American health care by:
NQF convenes public and private sector leaders in establishing national priorities and goals to achieve health care that is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient and equitable.
The American Urological Association (AUA), as a member of the NQF, routinely nominates physician members to serve on various NQF committees, councils, task forces and workgroups that strive to guide the work of the NQF and facilitate communication and engagement among its members. The AUA has been granted a permanent seat on the Health Professionals Council, and other AUA physician representatives serve on task forces and workgroups. In addition, the AUA submits relevant quality measures to NQF for endorsement.
