Treasurer
The AUA is seeking a highly qualified member to fill the position of AUA’s next Treasurer. The Treasurer is a compensated position on the Board of Directors and carries significant responsibility to help manage and communicate the complexities of AUA's three corporate entities. The Treasurer is the custodian of the assets of the AUA (American Urological Association, Inc. and the American Urological Association Education and Research, Inc.) and the Urology Care Foundation, Inc. The Treasurer is responsible, along with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Joint AUA/UCF Audit Committee, for safeguarding of AUA's financial assets and for regulatory reporting/compliance. The Treasurer works with the Joint AUA/UCF Finance Committee and staff to ensure internal controls are in place for all financial transactions. The Treasurer presents the financial information to the AUA and UCF Boards and the AUA membership.
The Treasurer is elected to serve one non-compensated year as AUA Treasurer-elect beginning in May 2024 followed by four compensated years as a voting member as both Treasurer of the AUA Board of Directors and Treasurer of the Urology Care Foundation Board. This position also serves on other committees as stipulated by Bylaws and as appointed by the AUA.
The travel requirement for this joint position is approximately 27 nights away annually. The Treasurer-elect position requires approximately 25 nights away per year. As an AUA and UCF officer, the Treasurer is subject to Level I restrictions on certain commercial and other relationships.
