Science & Quality (S&Q) Council Chair

The American Urological Association (AUA) is seeking a highly-qualified member to fill the position of Science & Quality (S&Q) Chair.

The S&Q Chair is a compensated position and carries significant responsibility to oversee the activities of the Science & Quality Council’s three component committees: Practice Guidelines, Quality Improvement & Patient Safety and Data. These committees work to develop, disseminate and implement guidelines, white papers, physician performance measures, patient safety initiatives, registries, and data projects. The Chair provides guidance and approval of AUA signing on to coalition letters and position statements relevant to Science & Quality, and serves as a liaison to various AUA committees and also represents AUA at key external meetings.

The ideal candidate must be an AUA Member (Active category), currently practicing in Urology with extensive knowledge of S&Q issues. The Chair is a paid consultant to the AUA Board of Directors, its officers and staff, and specifically to the Executive Vice President of Research, Quality & Scientific Affairs.

The individual selected will serve one-year (non-compensated) as Chair-elect (June 2021 – May 2022) prior to beginning a four-year compensated term as S&Q Chair (June 1, 2022 – May 30, 2026).
