FDA Supplement and Drug Recalls

The AUA strives to regularly notify its members about pertinent FDA alerts and recalls including medical devices, drugs and supplements in the AUA Policy & Advocacy Brief blog and on AUANet.org.   Learn more

Patient Access to PSA Testing

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force in May 2018 recommended prostate cancer screening in men ages 55-69. These recommendations are in direct alignment with the AUA's clinical practice guideline and guidelines from most other major physician groups - such as the American Cancer Society and the American College of Physicians, all which advocate for shared decision-making.   Learn more

Bill Spotlight: Standardizing Electronic Prior Authorization for Safe Prescribing Act

Prior authorization is a challenge that all practices are facing. The AUA, through the Regulatory Relief Coalition, is engaging Congress on H.R. 4841, the Standardizing Electronic Prior Authorization for Safe Prescribing Act (ePA) of 2018. The bill would increase the use of electronic prior authorizations under Medicare Part D.   Learn more
