Congenital adrenal hematocele

  • Refers to the accumulation of blood in the space between the parietal and visceral tunica vaginalis.
  • Often associated with a hydrocele.
  • Gross: blood-filled cavitary cyst that may be calcified with long duration.
  • Histology: fibrous capsule with or without calcifications, and organizing hemorrhage (image A) & (image B).
  • Idiopathic hematoma may arise in the spermatic cord or epididymis.
