<p>The American Urological Association, the premier association for the advancement of urologic patient care, is actively recruiting an experienced <strong>Payment Policy Analyst .</strong><br /><br /> Primary duties include: </p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Research and analyze rulemakings and policies: </strong>such as the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule and the Hospital Outpatient and Ambulatory Surgical Centers payment systems analyzing impact and strategize to determine ways to address favorably impact the practice of urology. Also, assist with research and analysis of policies related to insurer activities. Monitor policy developments on a national level among federal and other medical organizations by using database subscriptions. </li>
<li><strong>Support the Reimbursement and Regulation Department: </strong>communicate to members about payment policies; preparing for the Coding and Reimbursement Committee meeting, Regulatory Workgroup, Telehealth Workgroup, and National Insurer Advisory Workgroup meetings and conference calls.<strong></strong> <strong> </strong></li>
<li><strong></strong><strong>Writing: </strong>draft written comments on policy issues; suggest, research and write <em>Policy & Advocacy Brief</em> articles and social media content.<strong></strong> </li>
<li><strong>Projects: </strong>works on all other department projects and programs as assigned. </li>
</ul>
<p>The successful candidate: </p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree in public policy area preferred.</li>
<li>Minimum 2-4 years of policy analysis experience. Examples of work required.</li>
<li>Thorough knowledge of all aspects of physician payment and healthcare-related agencies.</li>
<li>Experience working with cross-functional teams within an organization preferred.</li>
<li>Knowledge of health policy issues preferred.</li>
<li>Knowledge of Current Procedural Terminology, ICD-10-CM diagnosis coding and Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System helpful.</li>
<li>Some travel might be required. </li>
