Project & IT Governance Director
<p>The <strong>American Urological Association</strong> (AUA) is the premier association for the advancement of urologic patient care. We are actively recruiting a Projects and IT Governance Director. This position will work in the Linthicum, MD headquarters office.<br /><br />The Projects & IT Governance Director works with stakeholders from all business units to provide the vision, expertise and leadership needed to deliver project outcomes. This collaboration includes defining and documenting business requirements for AUA initiatives; developing project plans; defining project budgets; assigning project resources; assembling and leading project teams; ensuring project quality. The position is responsible for various methods and practices around provisioning technology, information and innovation into the business, improving the overall project portfolio management (PPM) maturity across the organization.</p>
<p>As an arm of the overall IT governance function, this position is responsible for supporting and enabling the organization's informational and technical projects/programs/portfolios and structured work efforts.</p>
<p>Works with the CIO/EVP to investigate, identify, explore, and review new and emerging techniques that will improve existing business processes. Assists the EVP with responsibilities related to short-and long-range planning and corresponding budget preparation and maintenance.</p>
<p>The successful candidate:</p>
<ul>
<li>4-year undergraduate degree (BS) in information systems, technology, or other related field of study, a master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), administrative sciences, technology project management or other related field of study, preferred</li>
<li>5+ years project management experience, with PMP certification(s) such as PMI and significant knowledge of technology project planning tools with evidence of practical application</li>
<li>3-5 years' business analyst experience with focus on process and workflow reengineering</li>
<li>Experience with one or more project management methodologies (for example, PMI PMBOK, PRINCE2 and agile)</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience in leading diverse, multidisciplinary teams with a focus on building consensus and trust amongst team members</li>
<li>Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to develop and communicate vision, and inspire and motivate staff to adopt project management practices</li>
<li>Strong ability to identify roles and responsibilities and develop training plans and performance objectives to ensure continuous improvement of staff and teams</li>
<li>A distinctive blend of business, IT, financial and communication skills (This is a highly visible position with substantial impact)</li>
<li>Effective influencing and negotiation skills in an environment where resources may not be in under the direct control of this role</li>
<li>Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning and execution skills</li>
<li>Strong business acumen, including ability to absorb and apply industry, domain-specific knowledge of the association and its business units.</li>
<li>Deep understanding of current and emerging technologies, how other organizations are employing them to drive digital business, and how they may be applied to the enterprise to drive digital business.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans.</li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain IT concepts and technologies to business leaders, and business concepts to the PMO and Shared Services staff.</li>
<li>Ability to travel periodically</li>
