Research Scholar Award Competition Offers Two Awards Dedicated to Diversity & Inclusion

Research Scholar Awards provide $40,000 per year for one- or two-year mentored research training for clinical and postdoctoral fellows or early-career faculty. Sponsoring institutions provide additional financial support, an outstanding research environment and access to excellent mentorship. Two new awards are available for 2021 that focus on diversity and the inclusion of women and underrepresented minorities in urologic research.   Learn More

New Rising Star in Urology Research Awardee Announced

The AUA and its Urology Care Foundation are excited to announce Simpa Salami, MD, MPH as the recipient of the 2020 Rising Stars in Urology Research Award. Dr. Salami is a urologic oncologist and assistant professor of urology at the University of Michigan where he maintains a translational prostate cancer research laboratory. He is mentored by Ganesh Palapattu, MD; Scott Tomlins, MD, PhD; and Arul Chinnaiyan, MD, PhD on a project titled “Radiogenomic Characterization of Prostate Cancer: Distinguishing Aggressive from Indolent Disease.”   Learn More
