AUA2026 – National Residency Abstract Olympics

Will Your Residency Program Be the Champion?

The AUA is excited to announce the second annual National Residency Abstract Olympics! This spirited competition gives U.S. urology residency programs the opportunity to go for the gold by having the most accepted resident abstracts presented at AUA2026.

Details

  • Open only to accredited urology residency programs in the U.S. A resident must be listed as the presenting author of the abstract. Residency is not limited by year (e.g. PGY-1, PGY-5)
  • Submitted abstracts will be reviewed through the AUA’s rigorous, double-blinded peer review process and winners will be determined based on the abstracts accepted for AUA2026
  • In accordance with AUA2026 abstract policies, an individual may not serve as the presenting author on more than five abstracts accepted for presentation at the Annual Meeting and to qualify in this competition
  • The AUA will award gold, silver, and bronze medals to the U.S. residency programs with the most accepted paper and video abstracts
    • This competition will have two divisions of winners: Programs with 11 or more residents and programs with 10 or fewer residents
  • The presenting author is required to attend the AUA2026 Annual Meeting to present their accepted abstract(s)
  • A program faculty representative (e.g., Director, Chair, etc.) is required to accept the award in person at AUA2026 on behalf of their program
