AUA2026 – Pre-Meeting Programs

The following programs take place on Thursday, May 14, 2026, prior to the official opening of the 2026 AUA Annual Meeting.

NEW – Advanced Cystoscopy Training for APPs

Course Co-Directors:

Target Audience:

APPs with interest in performing office-based cystoscopic procedures and one of the following:

  1. APPs with no prior cystoscopy experience and interested in gaining initial didactic & hands-on experience with high fidelity practical models.
  2. APPs with previous exposure to office-based cystoscopy interested in further didactic and hands-on exposure to advanced cystoscopic procedures.

Requirements:

  1. APPs with clinical exposure to patients with relevant urologic complaints including hematuria, bladder cancer, urolithiasis, neurogenic bladder, and voiding dysfunction
  2. APPs with basic understanding of relevant genitourinary anatomy related to urethra, prostate, and bladder

Description:

This new APP skills training provides a standardized training tailored to the needs of the advanced practice provider (APP) seeking procedural skills training in office-based transurethral cystoscopy. This training is recommended for APPs with clinical exposure to patients with relevant urologic complaints including hematuria, bladder cancer, urolithiasis, neurogenic bladder, and voiding dysfunction and a basic understanding of relevant genitourinary anatomy related to the urethra, prostate, and bladder.

This training offers both in-person and virtual components with a robust half-day of hands-on training in the most critical procedural areas of need for APPs along with an online library of on-demand virtual didactics straight from the experts. This in-person Hands-on Skills Training will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026, in Washington, DC, as part of the Annual Meeting's pre-meeting programming.

Society of Urologic Oncology (SUO)

The Evolving Landscape of Advanced Prostate Cancer Treatment: A Guidelines and Case-Based Discussion

Presented by the AUA in partnership with the Society of Urologic Oncology (SUO)

Designed for residents, fellows, APPs and Urologists as well as other health care providers who care for patients with prostate cancer, this interactive forum will focus on the application of knowledge with case studies and small group discussion integrated throughout the day. A flipped classroom approach will be utilized. Register early to receive the Prework Library which will be available to all registered participants in April 2026.
