Will there be any meals during the Forum?

Yes, breakfast will be served.

Who is eligible for the two-night hotel credit offered by the AUA?

Any AUA Resident/Fellow or International Resident-In-Training member will be eligible provided your RSVP is received as one of the first 110 individuals who apply for the credit.

I’m participating in the Residents Bowl and/or The Great Debate. Can I also qualify for the hotel credit for attending the AUA Residents Forum program?

No. Those participating in the Residents Bowl and/or The Great Debate are not eligible to receive the hotel credit because they receive a separate travel stipend from the AUA.

I received AUA funding to attend the Residents Forum program last year. Do I still qualify?

Yes. Eligibility is not dependent on past funding. Hotel credits are made available to qualifying resident and fellow members each year on a first-come, first-served basis.

Do I need to fill out financial paperwork in order to receive the hotel credit?

No. Financial documents are not required to receive the hotel credit.

I received a confirmation email that I qualify to receive the two-night hotel credit, but I’ve already booked my hotel. What should I do?

If you’ve booked a room at one of the designated hotels eligible for the hotel credit, you will not need to modify or change your reservation. If you’ve made a reservation at another hotel (either within or outside the AUA housing block), you must cancel the reservation and rebook at one of the designated hotels.

There is a fee to cancel my current hotel reservation. Will the AUA allow me to use the two-night credit at any other hotel?

No. In order to receive the hotel credit, you must reserve a room at one of the designated hotels.

How can I get a list of designated hotels offering the two-night hotel credit?

The list of designated hotels are shown below.

  • Doubletree San Antonio Downtown
  • Drury Plaza Hotel San Antonio Riverwalk
  • Embassy Suites San Antonio Riverwalk
  • Hotel Contessa
  • Hotel Indigo – San Antonio Riverwalk
  • Hotel Valencia Riverwalk

Will the cost for my hotel stay be the same, regardless of which of the designated hotels I choose?

No. The nightly rate is determined by the individual hotel and can vary. Please refer to the rates listed under general attendee housing to determine the cost for a specific hotel.

Can my program receive the credit?

No. The two-night hotel credit is applied to the hotel reservation for the qualifying individual. The value of the credit cannot be applied to any other expense, nor paid to any other individual/entity.

The hotel I want to stay at shows as unavailable. Can I still request a room at this hotel?

No. Hotel rooms are available to qualifying residents on a first-come, first-served basis, upon opening of the reservation link (sent to qualifying residents via email). The AUA is not able to reassign individuals to another hotel based on personal preference. In the event of unique circumstances requiring special accommodation, please contact rescommittee@AUAnet.org.

I qualified for the hotel credit and booked my hotel room through the reservation link provided. Why is the cost for my stay not reflecting the two-night credit?

The hotel credit is applied to your reservation onsite and not at the time of online booking. You will receive a revised invoice from the hotel upon checkout that reflects the credit for the two nights covered by the AUA.

I’m on the waitlist to receive the hotel credit. Where and when should I reserve my hotel stay?

It is recommended that you book your hotel as soon as possible. You should book through general attendee housing at one of the designated resident hotels. If the benefit becomes available, the AUA will automatically apply the two-night hotel credit to your existing reservation at this hotel.

I’m still on the waitlist. When will I find out if I will be receiving the hotel credit?

Individuals on the waitlist will be contacted no later than the second week of April if a spot becomes available.

Do I need to attend the Forum to receive the two-night hotel credit?

Yes, you do need to attend the Forum to receive the hotel credit and must sign in and have your badge scanned by an AUA staff member upon arrival at the program. If you do not attend the onsite program, we will send you an email notification to inform you of loss of your hotel credit benefit.

The hotel didn’t apply my two-night hotel credit to the room reservation. Who should I contact?

Please contact the AUA’s official housing partner, OnPeak, at 866-772-4409.

If I am unable to attend the program in-person, can I still receive the Forum presentations?

Yes, a recording of the Residents Forum will be available On Demand following the meeting as part of all registration packages (Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze).
