Develop your skills with guidance from the experts with our AUA Hands-on Skills Trainings (HOSTs)!

These skills trainings combine pre-work, didactic lectures and hands-on sessions instructed by highly accomplished and experienced Faculty. The HOSTs are among the most popular educational offerings at the Annual Meeting—so be sure to register early as seats are limited. Updated offerings for AUA2024 include "Prostate MR Imaging: What a Urologist Should Know", back in person for the first time since 2019 and, a new, comprehensive training in the increasingly in-demand skill of Single-Port Robotic Surgery.

In particular, our ability to offer these activities is contingent upon offering them safely for registrants, faculty, staff, and equipment providers. If you have registered for an AUA2024 Hands-on Skills Training and it is subsequently canceled by AUA, you will be eligible for a full refund of that registration fee. If AUA cancels a Skills Training, notification will be sent to registered attendees by April 5, 2024.

Description
This new training with leading experts offers urologists the opportunity to develop hands-on experience in the currently underutilized but increasingly in-demand skill of Single-Port Robotic Surgery. Learners will gain significant hands-on experience and formative feedback directly from experts both on-site and pre-conference. By completion of the training, learners will have gained the hands-on experience and knowledge of completing a radical prostatectomy and a partial nephrectomy using the Single-Port Robotic Surgery platform. (Please be advised, estimated shipping times for some locations outside the United States may be prohibitive to receiving a Hydrogel Model and participating in Part II of this training).

Description
This training responds to the need for educational opportunities for minimally invasive/ablative surgical procedures for BPH. During this hands-on training for physicians, learners will receive training and experience directly from the experts in office-based minimally invasive ablative procedures, becoming familiar with the indications, equipment, setup and surgical steps. Learners will also become familiar with more invasive enucleation procedures and potential complications, helping them incorporate these techniques into their practice.

Back in-person for the first time since 2019, this training will provide physicians with experience from experts in understanding the basic fundamentals of prostate imaging and targeted biopsy techniques. Through hands-on skills training, learners will develop their knowledge in the basics of MR imaging, interpretation, and imaging pitfalls through case reviews, practice cases with interactive imaging and formative feedback from the experts.

It is essential that urologists understand the fundamentals of office-based transperineal access to the prostate. The goal of this beginner training is to provide a hands-on experience and an introduction to these novel technologies, and the skills needed to perform transperineal interventions under local anesthesia.

This training will provide urologists hands-on experience in the critical skills of diagnostic and interventional renal ultrasound, enabling them to perform and manage this critical procedure themselves. After completion of this hands-on training with experts, learners will have the experience to perform their own percutaneous access and tract dilations, nephrostomy tube placements and renal biopsies.

This hands-on, intensive training in PCNL is for the practicing urologist who wants to gain experience from the experts with performing standard and mini percutaneous stone removal, obtaining his/her own access using fluoroscopy, ultrasound and combined retrograde/antegrade techniques. Through hands-on experience and formative feedback from experts, learners will gain knowledge and techniques to incorporate into their practice.
