Global Residents Leadership Retreat

In its commitment to advance urology around the world, the American Urological Association believes strong leadership is critical to the future of our specialty. To cultivate the next generation of leaders in urology, and foster a connection between residents and trainees around the world, the AUA launched the Global Residents Leadership Retreat. This invitation-only event welcomes residents from across the globe for a unique one-day program dedicated to leadership training and development.

Program Details

The Retreat provides residents and trainees from around the world the opportunity to advance their leadership and communications skills with sessions that include leadership development, conflict management, public speaking, coaching, mentoring and team building. Through a supplemental series of podcasts and videos, participants will also explore unique perspectives of leadership from some of today’s leaders in urology.

This unique program also provides participants the opportunity to network with other residents and global leaders during the AUA Annual Meeting. Registration to the Annual Meeting is included for all program participants. Participants will receive a certificate of completion at the conclusion of the Retreat.

When

This one-day event is held every other year, one day before the official Annual Meeting program begins. The 2025 Retreat will take place on Friday, April 25, 2025 at the AUA Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Who

The Retreat hosts 21 residents from within AUA domestic Section boundaries and 20 international residents selected by International Member Committee societies (41 participants total). Participation is by invitation only.
