Measurement

Healthcare performance measures are tools used to quantify the access to, or quality or cost of, care provided to patients and their families.  Although used in pay-for-performance programs such as MIPS and for public reporting, we believe the primary goal of healthcare performance measurement is to help improve the quality (and access and cost) of healthcare received by patients (and ultimately, to improve health).  The AUA develops, maintains urology-specific healthcare performance measures, several of which are implemented in the AQUA Registry and are approved for use in MIPS.
