Guidelines & Quality
The AUA's Clinical Practice Guidelines provide evidence-based guidance with an explicit clinical scope and purpose. AUA also provides Policy Statements, Best Practice Statements, Position Statements and White Papers to provide urology professionals with the best in peer-reviewed treatment recommendations and research.
Quality & Measurement
The core of the work of the Quality & Measurement Department is to help our members improve the quality of care they provide to their patients. We focus primarily on healthcare performance measurement and on various types of quality improvement education and initiatives.
Advancing Health Equity
Recognizing the influence that disparities in prostate cancer care have on patient outcomes, the American Urological Association (AUA) collaborated with Pfizer Oncology to assess current practice patterns for those with prostate cancer and identify promising approaches to improve care, particularly among vulnerable populations. This was accomplished by developing and fielding a survey of AUA members and conducting in-depth interviews with three physicians who have spearheaded efforts to address health and healthcare disparities in prostate cancer.
Explore Guidelines & Quality
The Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) is a path to participate in the CMS Quality Payment Program (QPP), which was created under the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA) of 2015 to combine multiple value-based programs.
Several Guidelines have been translated thanks to relationships with various urologic societies.
The Engage with Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (E-QIPS) resources will cultivate quality improvement and patient safety projects from members of the urological community to highlight QIPS accomplishments, foster QIPS growth, encourage collaboration and elevate urological care.
