Chakrobortty Fellowship Program
The AUA, in collaboration with the Indian American Urological Association, provides outstanding and promising junior faculty members in India with an opportunity to interact with colleagues in North America.
Medical advances are often the result of collaboration and this program has the potential to directly impact the educational opportunities for young urologists while improving the delivery of quality care to patients in India. This level of collaboration also allows for the sharing of knowledge and experience, but also enhances the global perspectives while fostering a closer alliance between the AUA and USI.
Program Details
This program is designed for two Indian urologists to visit a North American host institution for up to a 3-4 week period in spring 2025 including attendance at the AUA Annual Meeting being held on April 26-29, 2025 in Las Vegas, NV. The selected scholars will observe urologic surgeries/procedures, attend clinics and staff activities, but will not perform surgery or hands-on patient care. The scholars will be provided a stipend to support his/her stay.
Selected scholars agree to begin working on securing their visas promptly. Additionally, selected scholars must be able to present English-translated, up-to-date immunization records. Commonly required immunizations by U.S. hospitals include, but are not limited to:

- Tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis (Tdap)
