Alexander P. Cole, MD

2026 AUA/EAU EXCHANGE SCHOLAR PROGRAM (TO THE UNITED KINGDOM)

Dr. Cole is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School,  Associate Surgeon at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) and Junior Core Faculty at the Center for Surgery and Public Health. He received his BA at Harvard College in Cambridge, Massachusetts and his MD at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland.  In addition to his residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, he completed fellowships in urologic oncology (at BWH/DFCI) and image-guided therapeutics/focal therapy (University College London)

Dr. Cole is a clinician-scientist whose work has been honored in numerous settings. His study on cost variations in radical prostatectomy was voted “Best Abstract” at American Urological Association annual meeting in 2016 and was presented at the plenary session of that conference. He was twice awarded the Max Willscher Resident Research Award from the New England Section of the American Urological Association (3rd place in 2016, 1st place in 2018) and received the Joseph E. Murray and Simon J. Simonian Award from the BWH Department of Surgery in 2018. In 2020, he was chosen by the New England Section of the AUA to represent our region in the Young Investigators Showcase (one of 10 investigators chosen nationally) and in 2022, he was awarded the Bruce A. Beal and Robert L. Beal Surgical Fellowship from the BWH Department of Surgery.

Dr. Cole’s clinical practice consists of open and robotic urologic oncology as well as Focal therapy, including High Intensity Focused Ultrasound ablation (HIFU), Cryotherapy and Irreversible Electroporation. In 2021, he performed the first robot-assisted High Intensity focused Ultrasound Ablation in New England.

As part of the AUA/EAU Exchange Program, Dr. Cole attended the 2026 EAU Congress in London, United Kingdom and observed at Universitair Ziekenhuis Leuven in Belgium and in the United Kingdom at Southmead Hospital and St. Thomas Hospital.

2026 AUA/JUA EXCHANGE SCHOLAR PROGRAM (TO JAPAN)

Dr. Hans Arora is an Associate Professor of Urology and Interim Chief of the Division of Pediatric Urology at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill School of Medicine. He also holds roles as Director of Pediatric Robotic Surgery and Co-Director of Quality Improvement and Patient Safety within the department.

Dr. Arora joined the University of North Carolina after completing a fellowship in pediatric urology at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago, prior to which he completed urology residency at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Glickman Urological & Kidney Institute. He earned his MD and PhD degrees from the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine Medical Scientist Training Program. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in pediatric and adult urology and is an active reviewer for several journals including The Journal of Pediatric Urology, Urology, and the Journal of Urology.

He is an active member of the American Medical Association, the American Colleges of Surgeons, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Urological Association, where he has held numerous leadership roles through the years, and currently serves as Chair of the AUA Young Urologists Committee and Chair-elect of the AUA State Advocacy Committee. He has interests in health policy and advocacy and understanding the impact of political and legislative issues on the practice of urology and has been an invited speaker on a variety of health policy-related topics.

As part of the AUA/JUA Exchange Program, Dr. Arora will attend the JUA 2026 Congress in Kyoto and observe at Hokkaidō University in Japan, where he will have the opportunity to observe pediatric urology, as participate in with academic, clinical, and institutional activities.

2026 AUA/EAU ACADEMIC EXCHANGE SCHOLAR PROGRAM (TO UNITED KINGDOM)

Dr. Denise Asafu-Adjei is a Board-certified urologist, researcher, and health policy champion. She is an Assistant Professor of Urology at University of Chicago, where she serves as the Medical Director of Men’s Health and Male Reproductive Medicine. She is a well published clinical researcher with a focus on erectile dysfunction and preventive health, including dementias and aging, artificial intelligence (AI) and informatics in men’s health, and male infertility care.

Dr. Asafu-Adjei completed an Andrology Fellowship at the University of California Los Angeles from 2020-2021. She completed her Urology residency in 2020 at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. She received her MD from the University of Michigan Medical School. During medical school, she obtained an MPH in Health Policy and Management from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. A proud Bronx native, she is an alumna of the renowned Bronx High School of Science.

Dr. Asafu-Adjei is actively involved in her professional societies, having served on regional and national committees with the AUA, Sexual Medicine Society of North America, American Society for Reproductive Medicine, International Society for Sexual Medicine, and the National Medical Association. She is a member of the 2025 AUA Leadership Class and was the 2023 AUA Gallagher Health Policy Scholar. Dr. Asafu-Adjei currently serves as the AUA Chair of the Health Advancement and Impact Committee. She is a member of the AUA Federal Affairs Committee and Telehealth and Technology Committee. In the North Central Section of the AUA, she is the Illinois representative to the Health Policy Council and Chair of the Women in Urology Committee. She is also a member of the American Medical Informatics Association, with a Certificate in Health Informatics from Loyola University Chicago and a Certificate in AI and Healthcare from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is Board-eligible in Clinical Informatics, a rare qualification amongst surgeons. Dr. Asafu-Adjei is a member of the University of Chicago Medical Center AI Governance Board.

Dr. Michael E. Chua, MD, MASc (Global Health), DSc, FACS FRCSC DRCPSC, is Assistant Professor of Global Surgery at the University of Toronto and Program Director of the Pediatric Urology Fellowship at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). A pediatric and adult genitourinary reconstructive urologist, he also serves as Section Chief for Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgery and Transitional Urology at St. Luke’s Medical Center in the Philippines. Dr. Chua’s scholarship focuses on transitional urologic care, complex reconstruction, pediatric stone disease, AI/learning health networks, and global‑surgery capacity building. His work appears in journals such as The Journal of Urology,  JAMA Network Open,  and Pediatrics. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the American College of Surgeons, and he received the 2024 Datta G. Wagle Young Investigator Award from the Northeastern Section of the AUA.

As part of the AUA/SBU Exchange Program, Dr. Chua will attend the SBU Paulista Congress and observe at an academic center in Sao Paulo.

2026 AUA/MEXICAN VISITING SCHOLAR PROGRAM

Dr. Víctor Cornejo‑Dávila is Chair of the Department of Urology at the Regional Hospital of Specialties “City of Health” in Chiapas, Mexico, where he provides specialized urologic care to one of the country’s most underserved regions.

He received his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and completed his urology residency at Gea González Hospital in Mexico City.

Since 2012, Dr. Cornejo‑Dávila has been actively involved in academic medicine, teaching medical students and urology residents and contributing to clinical research. He has published extensively in peer‑reviewed journals, including Urology, International Urology and Nephrology, and Actas Urológicas Españolas, and serves as a reviewer for international journals such as Urologia Internationalis and Current Urology.

He has represented Mexico in the South-Central Section of the American Urological Association (AUA) since 2022. His clinical and research interests include stone disease, endourology, and reconstructive urology, with particular emphasis on ureteral strictures.

As part of the AUA/Mexican Visiting Scholar Program, Dr. Cornejo‑Dávila will attend the 2026 AUA Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. Following the meeting, he will visit the University of Alabama at Birmingham to observe endourology and minimally invasive management techniques and participate in academic and clinical activities.

Dr. Mateus De Bacco is a consultant urologist at Hospital Moinhos de Vento and Hospital São Lucas of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUC‑RS) in Porto Alegre, Brazil. He previously served as a faculty member at the Unisinos University School of Medicine from 2019 to 2023 and, since 2023, has worked as a preceptor in the urology service at São Lucas Hospital of PUC‑RS, where he trains urology residents.

He earned his medical degree from the Federal University of Health Sciences of Porto Alegre (UFCSPA) in 2009. Dr. De Bacco completed his residency training in general surgery in 2012 and in urology in 2015, when he also obtained board certification from the Brazilian Society of Urology. He subsequently earned a Doctorate in Surgery from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul.

Dr. De Bacco has completed formal robotic surgery training and is certified as a Da Vinci Console Surgeon by Intuitive Surgical (2019). In 2022, he was recognized by the Brazilian Society of Urology as an instructor‑surgeon for the Da Vinci system, with a particular emphasis on uro‑oncology, an area in which he has delivered lectures and published scholarly work.

2026 AUA/CAU VISITING SCHOLAR PROGRAM

Dr. Francisco Hidelbrando Alves Mota Filho is a national leader in prostate cancer diagnosis, minimally invasive therapies, and urologic innovation in Brazil. He serves as Deputy Chief of the Department of Urology at Santa Casa de Misericórdia de Fortaleza, a major referral center, where he coordinates the Urology Residency Program and leads academic clinical sessions. He is also President of the Ceará Section of the Brazilian Society of Urology (SBU‑CE), contributing to national efforts in continuing medical education and professional development.

Dr. Mota Filho completed his urology residency in 2015 at the University of São Paulo (USP) in Ribeirão Preto. He subsequently completed a fellowship in urologic oncology at Hospital das Clínicas (USP) and Hospital Sírio‑Libanês in São Paulo, followed by advanced training in minimally invasive and robotic surgery at Hospital Alemão Oswaldo Cruz. He also completed a one‑year fellowship in robotic and minimally invasive urologic oncology at Clinique Saint‑Augustin in Bordeaux, France. Dr. Mota Filho holds a PhD from the University of São Paulo, with research focused on prostate cancer and prostate biopsy.

A pioneer in the adoption of high‑frequency micro‑ultrasound for prostate cancer diagnosis in Brazil, Dr. Mota Filho helped establish the country’s first center to implement this technology. He has played a key role in the national dissemination of trans perineal prostate biopsy techniques and has expanded the clinical application of image‑guided perineal therapies for prostate disease. He has presented his work at major international meetings, including the American Urological Association (AUA).

His clinical and research interests include prostate cancer imaging, micro‑ultrasound, trans perineal biopsy, focal therapy, and robotic surgery.

Vishnuvardhan Ganesan, MD

2026 AUA/USI EXCHANGE SCHOLAR PROGRAM (TO INDIA)

Dr. Vishnuvardhan Ganesan is an Assistant Professor of Urology at the University of Minnesota, where he has been a faculty member since November 2023. He is fellowship trained in endourology, and his clinical practice focuses on management of benign prostatic hyperplasia and kidney stone disease. He has expertise in performing holmium laser enucleation of the prostate and percutaneous nephrolithotomy.

Dr. Ganesan graduated from Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine in 2017, where he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He completed his urology residency at the University of Southwestern Texas in 2022, followed by an endourology fellowship in Endourology at the University of Minnesota in 2023.

Dr. Ganesan's research interests include artificial intelligence and digital health applications in urology in stone disease. He has published over thirty peer-reviewed articles in leading journals such as The Journal of Urology, World Journal of Urology, Journal of Endourology, and Urology. Dr. Ganesan is an active member of the American Urological Association (AUA) and the Endourology Society, where he serves as a member of the website committee.

Dr. Brian Inouye is an Associate Professor of Urology and Associate Residency Program Director at Albany Medical College in Albany, New York. He is fellowship trained in reconstructive urology and genitourinary cancer survivorship. Dr. Inouye earned his MD degree in 2013 from Stony Brook School of Medicine.

Dr. Inouye’s research focuses on the mechanisms and natural history of pathology within reconstructive urology and genitourinary cancer survivorship. During his urology residency training, he was awarded the Urology Care Foundation Resident Research Award.

Dr. Inouye is a member of the Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons (GURS), where he currently serves as Chair of the Young GURS Committee, and a selected member of the Trauma and Urologic Reconstructive Network of Surgeons (TURNS), a multi‑institutional collaborative advancing large‑scale research in reconstructive urology.

As part of the AUA/JUA Exchange Scholar Program, Dr. Inouye will attend the 2026 JUA Congress in Kyoto, Japan and observe at the National Defense Medical College.

2026 AUA/JUA EXCHANGE SCHOLAR PROGRAM

Dr. Hiroki Ishihara is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urology at Tokyo Women’s Medical University in Tokyo, Japan.

Dr. Ishihara completed his MD degree from Kanazawa University in 2011 and his PhD from Tokyo Women’s Medical University in 2021. He completed a four‑year research fellowship in the Division of Epigenetics at the National Cancer Center Research Institute in Tokyo, where he investigated molecular alterations across various types of cancer, including kidney cancer.

Dr. Ishihara’s research focuses on robotic surgery for the treatment of genitourinary cancers. He has participated in multiple real‑world data studies evaluating perioperative and oncological outcomes following systemic therapy for genitourinary malignancies, including urothelial and kidney cancers.

His current work includes several translational research projects examining the pathogenesis and tumor immune microenvironment of kidney cancers using human samples. These studies employ genome‑wide, multi‑omics, and single‑cell analyses, as well as flow cytometry. Dr. Ishihara has authored more than one hundred original research publications and has received multiple grants and awards from public and private funding bodies and professional medical associations.

As part of the AUA/JUA Exchange Program, Dr. Ishihara will attend the 2026 AUA Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. Following the meeting, he will observe at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine.

Dr. Jun Kamei is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urology at the University of Tokyo in Tokyo, Japan. He earned his MD degree in 2008 and his PhD in 2017, both from the University of Tokyo.

Dr. Kamei’s research specializes in lower urinary tract dysfunction and urinary tract infections. He has published approximately thirty peer‑reviewed articles as a first or corresponding author and has received several research awards in Japan in recognition of his academic contributions.

As part of the AUA/JUA Exchange Scholar Program, Dr. Jun Kamei will attend the 2026 AUA Annual Meeting in Washington, DC.  Following the meeting, he will observe at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Dr. Hwanik Kim serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Urology at Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital, a tertiary academic medical center in South Korea, where he is actively involved in clinical care, research, and academic training.

Dr. Kim completed his medical education, urology residency, and fellowship training at Seoul National University, with advanced subspecialty training in endourology and minimally invasive surgical techniques.

His clinical practice focuses on endourology, robot‑assisted urologic surgery, and urologic oncology, including the management of benign prostatic hyperplasia, urinary stone disease, and urologic infections.

Dr. Kim’s research encompasses a broad spectrum of urologic oncology, with a particular emphasis on prostate cancer, urothelial carcinoma, and renal cell carcinoma. He has published extensively in international peer‑reviewed journals, serving as both first and corresponding author in numerous publications. His research experience includes multicenter collaborative studies, systematic reviews and meta‑analyses, propensity score–matched analyses, and the development of artificial intelligence–based clinical prediction models. In addition, he has conducted device‑based and translational research, particularly in perioperative pain management and catheter‑related bladder discomfort.

In parallel with his research activities, Dr. Kim has contributed to academic textbooks and surgical video publications focused on robot‑assisted radical cystectomy and minimally invasive urologic procedures. He also regularly serves as a peer reviewer for several international urology journals.

As part of the AUA/KUA Visiting Scholar Program, Dr. Kim will attend the 2026 AUA Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. Following the meeting, he will observer at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle. 

Gaëlle Margue, MD

2026 AUA/AFU VISITING SCHOLAR PROGRAM

Dr. Gaëlle Margue is an Assistant Professor in Urology at Bordeaux University Hospital and is currently pursuing a PhD within the I.CaRe Bordeaux research program (BRIC U1312, University of Bordeaux) under the supervision of Prof. Jean-Christophe Bernhard. Her doctoral research focuses on optimizing kidney cancer surgery through advanced 3D technologies, real-time augmented-reality guidance, and artificial intelligence. She previously completed her medical thesis on developing UroPredict, a machine-learning model trained on real-world prospective data to predict postoperative recurrence in localized and locally advanced renal cell carcinoma.

In 2022–2023, Dr. Margue completed a dedicated research year within the Digital Urology 3D RHU program, during which she also earned a Master of Science in biomedical imaging and signal processing (TechMed, Université Clermont Auvergne). Her work centered on real-time augmented-reality guidance and automatic renal parenchyma segmentation to support image-guided robot-assisted partial nephrectomy.

Dr. Margue is actively involved in several academic urology networks. She is a member of the AUA, EAU Young Academic Urologists (YAU) Renal Cancer Group, serves as Vice-President of the French Association of Urologists in Training (AFUF), and is part of the FUTUR group, which brings together young academic urologists committed to research, innovation, and education.

Her clinical and scientific interests include minimally invasive and image-guided renal surgery, augmented reality, artificial intelligence for RCC prognostication, and surgical simulation. She is principal investigator or co-investigator in several national UroCCR trials and contributes extensively to kidney cancer research through publications, multicenter collaborations, and presentations at international conferences.

Kyung Tak Oh, MD, PhD

2026 AUA/KUA VISITING SCHOLAR PROGRAM

Dr. Kyung Tak Oh is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Urology at Yonsei University College of Medicine, Severance Hospital, in Seoul, Korea. He specializes in reconstructive and functional urology, with a particular focus on transitional urology.

Dr. Oh completed his residency and received his MD from Yonsei University College of Medicine, Seoul, Korea. He is recognized for establishing the first dedicated Transition Clinic in Korea, providing comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for adolescents and young adults with complex urologic conditions. He is actively engaged in clinical practice, education, and research within his specialty areas.

Dr. Oh currently serves as Academic Secretary and Deputy General Secretary of the Korean Continence Society (KCS), contributing to national academic initiatives and professional development in urology.  He has received multiple national awards in recognition of his academic and clinical contributions, including the Song Jung Young Investigator Award (2024), Best Abstract Award from the Korean Urological Association (2024), KCS Vision Academic Award (2025), and KCS Outstanding Clinical Paper Award (2025). Through his ongoing academic and clinical work, Dr. Oh is committed to advancing surgical innovation and improving long-term care strategies in transitional and reconstructive urology.

As part of the AUA/KUA Visiting Scholar Program, Dr. Kyung Tak Oh will attend the AUA Annual Meeting in Washington, DC and observe at New York University - Langone Health.

2026 AUA/IAUA CHAKROBORTTY FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

Dr. Abhijit Patil is a Consultant Urologist and Kidney Transplant Surgeon in the Department of Urology at Muljibhai Patel Urological Hospital in Nadiad, India. He completed his urology residency at B. Y. L. Nair Hospital in Mumbai.

Dr. Patil has advanced fellowship training in combined endourology, laparoscopy, and robotic surgery through the Endourological Society (USA) and has completed a Fellowship in Clinical Transplantation from the World Kidney Academy. He holds the Fellow of National Board (Renal Transplant) qualification and is the first surgeon in India to obtain this degree. His clinical and academic focus is centered on kidney transplantation.

He has received multiple prestigious international fellowships and scholarships, including the MIUC International Traveling Fellowship from the Urological Society of India, through which he completed a kidney transplantation observership at NHS Sheffield in the United Kingdom. He is also a recipient of the Korean Urological Association Scholarship to attend KUA 2025 in Seoul and the 2026 Japanese Urological Association Asian Scholarship.

Dr. Patil is the co‑editor of the textbook Practical Guide to Kidney Transplantation and is a certified Publons Academy Peer Reviewer. He serves as a reviewer for several international journals, including the Indian Journal of Urology, World Journal of Urology, BMC Urology, and International Urology and Nephrology. His academic output includes thirty-seven indexed peer‑reviewed publications and twelve book chapters, and he has also been awarded the Urological Society of India Member Traveling Fellowship.

2026 AUA/USI EXCHANGE SCHOLAR PROGRAM (TO INDIA)

Dr. Luke Reynolds is an Assistant Professor of Surgery and Urology at the University of Chicago.

Dr Reynolds serves as the Associate Program Director of the residency training program and the Surgical Director of the Comprehensive Kidney Stone Program. He studied at Dalhousie University for graduate school and medical school, then completed his residency at the University of Ottawa. He then went on to complete a fellowship in endourology, minimally invasive surgery and renal transplant at St. Michael’s Hospital, University of Toronto. His main clinical and research interests are in the medical and surgical treatment of kidney stone disease. Dr. Reynolds research focuses on management of post-operative pain, the impact of kidney stone disease and quality of life and works with nephrologists studying the pathogenesis of stone disease.

As part of the AUA/USI Exchange Program, Dr. Reynolds attended the 2026 USI Congress in Indore, India and conducted an observership at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi, India.

Denis Séguier, MD

2026 AUA/AFU VISITING SCHOLAR PROGRAM

Dr. Denis Séguier is a clinical urologist (Chef de Clinique Assistant) at Lille University Hospital and a PhD candidate at the University of Lille under the supervision of Professor Jonathan Olivier.

His research focuses on focal therapy for localized prostate cancer, with a particular emphasis on post-treatment MRI evaluation, MRI–pathology correlation, and the development of risk-adaptive follow-up strategies.

He began his residency in 2018 at Lille University Hospital, where he developed a strong interest in prostate cancer imaging and minimally invasive oncologic therapies. Dr. Séguier earned his medical degree in 2022 with a thesis on morphometric MRI analysis before and after HIFU treatment. During his residency, he spent time at Duke University Hospital (Durham, NC), where he received training in focal therapy research and advanced prostate imaging methodologies.

He currently leads or collaborates on several national and international projects. In addition to his oncologic focus, Dr. Séguier is trained in the surgical management of benign prostatic hyperplasia under the mentorship of Professor Olivier, himself an alumni of the AUA/AFU Visiting Scholar Program. He maintains a strong interest in emerging minimally invasive and energy-based technologies for both prostate cancer and BPH.

As part of the AUA/AFU Visiting Scholar Program, Dr. Denis Séguier will observe at Yale School of Medicine and attend the 2026 AUA Annual Meeting in Washington, DC.

Fernando Terziotti, MD

2026 AUA/SBU EXCHANGE SCHOLAR PROGRAM

Dr. Fernando Terziotti is a Brazilian urologist and serves as an assistant physician at the Cancer Hospital of Londrina, Brazil.

He earned his medical degree from Maringá State University and completed his urology residency at Londrina Evangelical Hospital. Board‑certified by the Brazilian Society of Urology (SBU) since 2015, Dr. Terziotti also holds a master’s degree from Londrina State University, where he is currently pursuing his PhD.

His clinical practice and research focuses on urologic oncology, with an emphasis on prostate, kidney, and bladder cancer, utilizing advanced robotic and laparoscopic technologies. He also has clinical expertise in urogynecology. In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Terziotti serves as a preceptor for the Urology Residency Program at Londrina Evangelical Hospital.

As an AUA/SBU Exchange Scholar, Dr. Terziotti will attend the 2026 AUA Annual Meeting in Washington, DC and observe at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. 

Shantanu Tyagi, MS, MCh, MRCS (Edinburgh)

2026 AUA/IAUA CHAKROBORTTY FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

Dr. Shantanu Tyagi is a specialist urologist and fellowship‑trained robotic surgeon with expertise in advanced minimally invasive surgery, robotic reconstructive procedures, uro‑oncology, and complex genitourinary reconstruction.

He earned his MBBS degree in 2011 and completed his board certification in urology (MCh) in 2020 at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, India. During his training, Dr. Tyagi received several prestigious honors, including the Urological Society of India (USI) Singapore Fellowship, the MAYOCON Gold Medal (2018), and an elective in uro‑oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. He also holds the MRCS (Edinburgh) qualification, completed advanced robotic surgery fellowships (AMASI and ARIS), and earned a Master of Surgery degree with Gold Medal distinction.

Dr. Tyagi is licensed to practice urology in multiple international jurisdictions, including the General Medical Council (United Kingdom), Dubai Health Authority, and Department of Health (UAE). He currently serves as an Attending Urologist with NMC Healthcare in Dubai.

A highly active academic contributor, Dr. Tyagi has presented extensively at international meetings, including the American Urological Association (AUA), European Association of Urology (EAU), Urological Association of Asia (UAA), and the NCCN Annual Conference. His scholarly work includes more than seventy-five peer‑reviewed publications with over 450 citations, spanning robotic surgery, reconstructive urology, endourology, and uro‑oncology. He also serves as a peer reviewer for several international journals.

As part of the AUA/IAUA Chakrobortty Fellowship Program, Dr. Tyagi will attend the 2026 AUA Annual Meeting in Washington, DC and observe at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. 

Nitin Yerram, MD

2026 AUA/SBU EXCHANGE SCHOLAR PROGRAM (TO BRAZIL)

Dr. Nitin Yerram is an Assistant Professor of Urology at the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine and serves as Director of Urologic Oncology, Director of Urologic Research, and Assistant Program Director of the Urology Residency at Hackensack University Medical Center. He specializes in the surgical management of cancers of the prostate, kidney, and bladder, with expertise in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgery.

Dr. Yerram earned his medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and completed his residency in urologic surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He went on to complete a fellowship in Urologic Oncology at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

Dr. Yerram’s clinical and research interests focus on precision diagnostics and novel therapeutics in prostate and bladder cancer. He currently leads multiple investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored clinical trials in prostate and bladder cancer and has published extensively in the field of urologic oncology. 

As an AUA/SBU Exchange Scholar, Dr. Yerram will attend the 2026 SBU Paulista Congress and observe at an academic center in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
