AUA/Japanese Urological Association (JUA) Academic Exchange Program

The AUA may be forced to terminate the 2021 AUA/JUA Academic Exchange Program due to circumstances outside of their control, including but not limited to, acts of God, war, government regulation or advisory, acts or threats of terrorism, strikes or threat of strikes, transportation or travel restrictions or disruptions or public health emergencies or other circumstances that would make it impossible, illegal, or commercially impracticable to proceed with the 2021 AUA/JUA Academic Exchange Program. Please do not book any travel or provide payment for any travel arrangements for this program without the expressed permission of the AUA.

The AUA/JUA Academic Exchange Program allows young academic urologists to benefit from the sharing of knowledge and experiences with colleagues in Japan. Medical advances are often the result of fruitful collaboration, and this fellowship is designed to facilitate such opportunities. The program not only allows the sharing of knowledge and experience, but is designed to foster a closer alliance between the AUA and JUA, and assists in identifying future leaders within both organizations.

This reciprocal program designed for two urologists includes a 2-4 week educational experience at an academic center(s) in Japan and attendance at the JUA Annual Meeting. During the exchange, participants observe urologic surgeries/procedures, attend clinics, present lectures and take part in staff activities. The exchanges are "observation only" – participants do not perform hands-on surgery.

We are not currently accepting applications for this program. An update will be posted shortly.
