AUA Advanced Practice Provider of the Year Award

The AUA Advanced Practice Provider (APP) of the Year Award was recently established by the 2019-2020 AUA APP Membership Committee led by Chair, Tricia Zubert, APRN, CNP, to recognize the contributions and accomplishments of upcoming APPs in the field of urology. As such, each year, the APP Membership Committee will select a recipient to be honored with the award.

2021 Nominations Are No Longer Being Accepted

Do you know an exceptional urology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) who exemplifies strong leadership skills and provides outstanding patient care? If so, consider nominating them for the 2021 Advanced Practice Provider (APP) of the Year Award!

Eligibility

Any AUA APP member who has demonstrated a commitment to the field of urology in the following ways is eligible for nomination:

  • An AUA Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Member in good standing
  • Exemplifies strong leadership skills in the field of urology and provides outstanding patient care
  • Significantly contributes to the APP program at their respective Section/Society meeting and/or shows leadership in coordinating other APP activities/initiatives
  • Does not currently serve as a member of the APP Membership Committee

The winner will receive a $1,000 stipend for the 2021 AUA Annual Meeting in Las Vegas ($250 AUA Annual Meeting Registration and $750 for travel expenses). The winner will be presented with their award during the APP Program (Urologic Care for the Advanced Practice Provider) at AUA2021.

2020 Award Winner

Heather Schultz, NP has been with The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Department of Urology for 14 years. She also has an adjunct position with the School of Nursing at UNC. Ms. Schultz works with benign and malignant urology patients in an outpatient setting, as well as performs minor in-office procedures. She currently serves as the Lead APP for her urology department. From 2010-2015, Ms. Schultz was a member of the AUA APP Education Committee and served as Committee Chair from 2016-2019. Ms. Schultz has also been an active member of the AUA APP Membership Committee, Education Council, and co-director of the AUA APP Annual Program.
