AUA Issues Statement on the War in Ukraine
As a global organization with members in more than 120 countries, AUA stands in solidarity with our colleagues, members, friends and citizens in Ukraine. AUA joins the global urologic community in rejecting the violence being perpetrated against Ukraine and hopes for a rapid, diplomatic and peaceful outcome.
War inevitably results in denial of the right to live in a safe and healthy environment. We believe in the greater power of medicine which has the ability to transcend borders and unite people of every culture.
AUA has reached out directly to the Ukrainian Urological Association, the Ukrainian Oncourological Association and our members in the country to extend our support. In addition, we back the activities of international humanitarian organizations and encourage sending donations to UNICEF and the International Red Cross to further support the people of Ukraine and the surrounding region.
